The Allure Of Innocence

I have a confession. I find inexperience sexy. Not innocence, necessarily, not the fresh faced, youthful, never been touched thing, but the act of bringing pleasure to someone who hasn’t experienced it before. I blame this entirely on having seen Sex, Lies and Videotape when I was young and impressionable. The notion of a woman who hadn’t and possibly couldn’t have an orgasm, got under my skin. Not that I ever had any issues on this score, but the whole point of fantasy is that it isn’t reality.

Experience to date suggests that generally speaking, female sexuality is a lot more complicated than what happens with the guys. There are things that, if done to a bloke for long enough, tend to reach the obvious conclusion. Heterosexual sex, especially as represented in porn, is pretty much defined by the male orgasm.

It’s entirely possible for a woman to have sex and not achieve orgasm. If you don’t know what you’re doing, and your partner hasn’t got a clue either, then even finding the right buttons to push can be a challenge. Some of us will come with very little provocation, others of us need a lot of encouragement.

There are few things I find more captivating than the idea of first orgasm. Especially in an older woman who has had some experience but never found what she needed. I’ve pondered the reasons, and I’ve come to the conclusion that I don’t know why this appeals to me so much, but it does.

Infatuation is a collection of my lesbian fiction. If you’ve bought them already as separate ebooks, might as well give this one a miss, but if you’re new to my work and fancy getting a print copy, or fancy jumping right in, do, do pick up a copy. Putting this together and going through the galley made me realise just how strong some of the themes in my work are. I knew consciously that rescue stories were a big part of what I do, but it came as a surprise to realise just how often the inexperienced woman crops up as a figure.

Sex is power. Not understanding your own body and not being able to take pleasure, are forms of powerlessness that often afflict women. Solving that problem… is one of the sexiest things imaginable.

Infatuation available in paperback on Amazon here.
